Thanks again for another informative piece. Really enjoy you lifting multiple perspectives but still weighing in your conclusions in a reasonable way. Keep ’em coming. Highly enjoyable. Enjoy your summer!
Looking forward ✨ BTW, I know you enjoy Allison. He just did a talk with Alex. Good stuff. Two points that stood out for me was:
1. The highlighting of Rom 1:2-4 which echoes the strange Matt 27:52-53. And gives credence to the amount of collective connotations the concept of resurrection had. Here I also find dr Tabor’s view on Daniel’s ”like a son of man” interpretation as a collective one fits well. Which also could give some pointers potentially to Jesus’s own vision of suffering/vindication. Seems that title seems to score high as in higher probability in authentic Jesus sayings…
2. Description of the resurrection in the apokryphal text of 2 Baruch (around 70 CE) as very close to Paul’s description of the resurrection body in terms of ’spirit body’. In other words showcasing what potentially was floating around at the time. And possibly influenced Paul.

Thank you, Simon! I’m looking forward to writing a whole lot more over the summer break.
